A Brief Inquiry is Efrat’s directorial debut- an intimate short featuring some of the UK’s most dedicated pop fans. It lovingly portrays classic themes of youthful rebellion, while also searching for a deeper meaning behind the obsession.

The film was inspired by her husband's role as a backline technician for The 1975, one of the UK's biggest pop bands. Visiting him often throughout the band’s three year world tour, she was always intrigued by their hyper-dedicated fanbase of young teens.

A Brief Inquiry was filmed in March 2020- only days away from what would become the touring industry’s most challenging years.
